The profession of Arms consist of Soldiers who have pledged to defend the constitution, the rights and interests of their people. It takes courage and the belief in something bigger than yourself to enlist and defend your country. Aside from specializing in combat operations, Soldiers must learn to adapt to different operational environments. As a Human Resources Sergeant in the Profession of Arms it is important that one must balance its role as a leader, remain professional at all times, as well as maintain the Army professional culture.
A profession is an occupation that entails commitment, hard work and years of schooling, training and practicing. You learn to be a subject matter expert and build trust with those you serve. The profession

Leaders are the first experts in the profession of Arms and they must mentor and set the example for others to follow. They are to be confident and educated in their decision making because their choices effect not only themselves, but their subordinates as well. HR Leaders have a responsibility to communicate effectively with their soldiers and know how to successfully solve problems through critical and creative thinking to accomplish assigned missions, as well as overcome any obstacle. They need to ensure the proper training and development of their Junior Enlisted Soldiers and understand the concept of knowledge management. It is important in the S1 world to know all regulations and ensure that protocols and procedures are being followed to avoid potential problems and bad customer service. HR professionals are also tasked to ensure the health and welfare of all Soldiers, maintain emergency notification data, as well as postal operations. I believe that the HR profession is a critical piece in the success of the Military and without it, there will be no order, only
