But then again at other times, she realized the importance of the media, in highlighting important social issues. Diana played an essential role in the changing of people’s perceptions about people who were HIV positive. At the time, there was a lot of fear that HIV could be passed just by touch alone. Princess Diana put to rest many of these presumptions, by being photographed, touching people who had the disease. Diana also wanted to ban the use of landmines. She wanted the ban on landmines because they are responsible for so many harm and deaths. It is often that young children who are most affected by the history of landmines. Princess Diana was the most profile figure to support the ban on landmines. Pictures were seen of her walking through an old landmine in Angola were displayed around the world. Her role is thought by many to be crucial in the passing of the Ottawa treaty banning the use of landmines. Princess Diana has influence me to help others and to brave while still being compassionate. She has inspired me to have valor and persistence in succeeding in what you feel is right. I like to bring awareness to topics that needs to be changed through art and
