Just like a lot of her family before her, she works at the local textile mill. Where the pay is hardly enough compare to the hours and working conditions. This connects to poverty because the pay is just not enough.With little pay it doesn't get you anywhere. It just keeps you where you are at the same level of economy. But what can we do to overcome poverty? There are many things we can do. Such as continue to support the poorest people, end all forms of poverty, get everyone involved to help stop poverty, create more jobs, raise the minimum wage, and support pay equity. But the main thing is to have a labor union. A labor union is an organization of workers dedicated to protecting members' interests and improving wages, hours and working conditions for all. No matter what you do for a living, there's a union with members who do the same thing. In the film is what Norma does, she sees the conditions that she is in and others too. After hearing a rousing speech by labor activist Reuben, Norma is inspired to rally her fellow workers behind the cause of unionism. She fights for what’s right. Which in the end is victorious, No matter what always fight for what you believe. To be able to get out of any bad conditions, being specific: poverty, you have to be strong and fight and not give
