Thomas M. Maddow co-wrote the article Non-obstructive Coronary Artery Disease and Risk of Myocardial Infarction. Based on the individuals’ outcomes, they were categorized according to “severity in a single, double, or triple-vessel distribution” (Maddox, 2014, para. 8). Maddox (2014) explains, “Patients with isolated 20% to 49% left main stenosis were included with the 1-vessel nonobstructive CAD patients. Patients with 50% or greater left main coronary artery stenosis were included with the 3-vessel obstructive CAD patients” (para. 8). Due to the categories, tests and other research methods were easier to compare and contrast and helped further their understandings of this study.
Credibility
The information provided in the original article, in my opinion, was credible. Almost all of the information included in the article came from doctors or individuals with a PhD. The facts they got came from the American Heart Association. Every individual was cited at the end of the article as well.
