Additionally, many people think that the government should not have a say in whether a woman can receive an abortion or not. A woman’s body should be the responsiblity of that woman, not the government. If that woman makes a mistake, they have Planned Parenhood to look to. If it is defunded, many women cannot afford an abortion and will be forced to carry the baby to full term. The fetus may portray human features, but it is not a human being while still in the womb (Arthur, 2001). Morally, abortion is acceptable because the fetus is not actually a human. The life of a woman is more significant than the life of the unborn fetus. The pro-choice movement is struggling to keeping the right to an abortion. President Trump has just signed an executive order that will cease federal funding over seas for non-profits who perform abortions, or support them (Yeh, 2017). After Trump has defunded over seas, women are worried he will also defund Planned Parenthood in America as well. So far, Trump is planning on moving forward with the defunding of the organization; this decision has caused a frenzy amongst thousands of women. If the organization looses their funding, they will loose an immense amount of profit because many people will no longer be able to afford the services. Abortion is the planned termination of a human pregnancy. Several philosophers and activists have argued over if it is permissible. The author of A Defense of Abortion, Judith Jarvis Thomson, is correct about her argument that abortion is permissible even if the fetus is a person. This is because a woman’s right to bodily autonomy, which, combined with the woman’s own right to life, takes precedent over a fetus’s right to life. Even if people claim that she gave the fetus permission to be there, she should not be forced into going against her right to bodily autonomy.…

Furthermore, shutting down Planned Parenthood would put many people at a greater health risk than they have now, and worst yet, it will not end abortion.…
