Each state has their own requirements for each individual to become a pharmacist, or a pharmacy technician. In Texas, the agency responsible that establish these requirements is called The Texas State Board of Pharmacy. This agency is also responsible for disciplining licensees and registrants who do not obey the state requirements. The state has several requirements in order to be licensed with the state of Texas. To work in a pharmacy, you have to be registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. To be registered, you have to pass the state pharmacy technician exam. Currently, there is no requirement for you to attend and education program. You also, have to pass a criminal background check in order to receive or earn your license or registration. For example, if you have been arrested for possession or dealing methamphetamine, then you will be denied your license. If you got arrested for buying alcohol to minors, you will not get your license.
