The overall rhetorical situation discussed in the special event "Question Bridge: Black Males" was the problems associated in the young black male communities and how certain scenarios are not that different, racial wise. This does sound broad, but it does fit the topic appropriately since the volunteers associated with the documentary touched on a lot of topics pertaining to young black male communities like finding that special someone, discussing how drugs and smoking is viewed as, generations begin to differ in appeals, etc. One of the questions brought up in the documentary was "In this era, in this society, do you consider yourself to be free as a human being?" A very interesting question since there will be many appeals towards it;…

I really enjoyed the guest speaker, Cathleen Morgan and was quite impressed with her forsaking aspect of being on the board of education. She gave a new insight on the idea that we are no longer a minority and majority school district. Whites were truly the minority, of which 35% are Hispanics and 15% are black. The idea that teaching with these numbers is extremely hard to do and is a challenge. The challenge of experiencing a certain culture and gaining a new culture at the same time.…

I am so thankful to hear those guest speakers talk about their life stories, the struggles they went through to get to the place they are today, and the beautiful souls each speaker has. Every single guest speaker was delightful, but if I had to choose my favorite it would be Bambi Shen. Maybe it was the fact that she went into depth with her life story because she had more time to do so, but it was a very inspiring story and I am glad I had the chance to hear it. She made me open my eyes to never judge someone by their appearance. She even said a couple of times that although she may look Asian she is French on the inside.…

The NCAA however, is broken down into 3 divisions and a collection of university presidents with sub-committees that make decisions on tournaments and revenue.…

I usually find satisfaction when an example of comedic wit comes to light. The art of sarcasm, and the structure of satire have never ceased to amuse me. Although, when this specific brand of “humor” comes about, I sit back not to marvel at the thought or eloquence of the speech, but to restrain my own deeply rooted antipathy. When these graceless, crude masses shove their way into conversation, I watch in disdain as they merely beg for the attention of their audience. My muscles tense and cringe while my fingers curl reflecting my desire to retreat from an area so comically contaminated.…

Her word choice was carefully picked, precise and clean. Her tone was a calm yet persistent one where one could see how subtle but also determined she was on her work. She would pause just enough to make a clean speech, she didn’t hurry off or seemed nervous in any way which only interested the audience into paying attention to her. However, one may think that she would have an even more effective speech if she would of played with her voice a little more or do some sort of hand gestures. If she would have changed her voice into a stronger one she maybe could have expressed some strong feeling that wasn’t empathy or remorse.…
