The Best Pets for Children with Allergies

When your child has allergies having a family pet can be difficult. There are so many different factors that have to be taken into consideration when choosing a pet that won’t trigger your children’s allergies. With pet allergies, most people are allergic to the dander that is produced in animal fur. This dander is what leads to your allergy symptoms. Thankfully, there is a solution. The following pets have been found to be allergy friendly and a lot of fun for young children.

Hypoallergenic Dogs
It is important to note that there isn’t a 100% hypoallergenic dog; however, there are many breeds that do well with allergies. This is because these different breeds do not shed their coats. These non-shedding coats produce less dander which is one of the leading causes of dog related allergies. These dog breeds are notoriously gentle and require moderate amounts of exercise, so children will have a dog that is as active as they are. Some examples of allergy friendly dogs are: Poodles, Bichon Frise, Maltese, American Hairless Terrier, and Schnauzers.
