Pediatric brain tumors have always been a great interest of mine. I find it devastating hearing the news of a child with a brain tumor because often times they are fatal. The complexity of brain tumors and the impact they play on the functions of one’s body are life changing. For this reason, I was interested in researching a charity that raises money to find a cure or prevention for brain tumors in children. The two organizations I chose to research were American Brain Tumor Association, based in Chicago Illinois; and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Association, based in Asheville North Carolina. Both these organizations have goals to help those diagnosed with brain tumors and continue research to find help cure brain tumors. The American Brain Tumor Association looks beyond just pediatric brain tumors. Although the charity does do drastic amounts of research about the cause of pediatric brain tumors, it also looks at brain tumors in people of all ages. They are researching to find a more universal approach for prevention, along with a more personalized approach for recovery after diagnosis. The strategies they use to
