The majority of the people seeking asylum are women and children from three of the current countries ranked with the most gang conscription, sexual violence and homicides, Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador. We can see from Reyes report and from the films/testimonies shown in CNN that these people are in desperate need to get away from the gang violence that threatens them back home. We can also see how the children flee from their home country as gangs try and recruit them and make them commit crimes for a living.
