Essay On Partnership Between Agencies In Safeguarding

Partnership when working in the field of safeguarding is when agencies and other professionals work together to ensure the wellbeing of a child. It starts with the government legislation right through to local placements. Each agency will have a specific role with their expertise to make sure the children get the best help from people that are trained in helping them with their needs, vulnerable children will need coordinated help from all of the different sectors such as health, education and children's social care and sometimes the justice services so it is important to have good communication between all of the sectors. Effective partnership between the agencies is important so that safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children works for the children and the sectors can do their duty to the children to safeguard them. There are many other clubs/sectors that may play a part in safeguarding such as the police, hospitals, child minders, schools and after school clubs, also people that are closer to the child such as friends and family and even neighbours. If all of these sectors and people work together and communicate with each other if a problem arises then everything will work out well.

In my place of work we have many Policies and procedures that cover every aspect of Safeguarding, child protection, health and safety etc. All new staff are given a copy of each policy and existing staff receive copies of any policies that may be updated.
