At the beginning Poseidon was the God who is in charge of the oceans. He was the most terrifying towards the crew of Odysseus because he did the most to keep them from returning home. In the beginning of the story it was Poseidon who summoned the sea monster to take away the Greek who was trying to tell that the Trojan Horse was a trap. First she was able to show herself to Odysseus before in the boat traveling to Troy. Odysseus tells her as long as she is on his side along with the Greeks. Second after that she disguised Odysseus to be and old man so that only his son would be able to recognize him. He take this opportunity to take back his home and vanquish all the suitors who have betrayed him. He then takes back his wife and his country.
