Based traveling experience to other countries , I have hold conversation with many people that believe that as soon you land in New York City well paying jobs will be offer to them. These foreigners believe that every resident in this city hold or is in the process of obtaining a white collar job. I needed to explained to many people that even though this city is one the richest city , there many people living in poverty. There are time when people need to sacrifice pursuing their education because they are not financially stable. Scott life is a perfect example of the struggles that New Yorkers go through on a daily basis. In the passage it it clear that that Scott was not living the life that outsider expected life in new york to be. Scott should have been studying or sleeping he was working on the late shift from 8pm to 1am. Scott was too young to work but he knew that him and his mother were struggling financially. In the passage Scott says “I came to understand why they have child labor laws” he said this because he felt like his job was not easy at all. New York is all about hard work and business. Many people who do not live in New York believe, that every New Yorkers have a prosperous and stress free life but ,Scott life experience reflects otherwise.
