Our planet gets warmer every year. In fact, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration stated that research showed that 2014 is the warmest year in all the earth’s history (Rice). The release of harmful greenhouse gasses that are trapped into our atmosphere is the mainspring of our planet extremely heating. Professor Michael Daley states: “Gas molecules that absorb thermal infrared radiation, and are in significant enough quantity, can force the climate system. These type of gas molecules are called greenhouse gases” (Lallanila). For many years now, global climate change and global warming has been a major issue discussed amongst scientists and their research. In 2014, IPCC announced that 95% of the main cause of global warming comes …show more content…
Globally, there are countries that have faced serve floods, droughts, diseases, and endless conflicts that are caused by burning fossil fuels. Research showed that the Earth’s temperatures have exceeded 1.5 degrees (Fears). Many countries around the world have been impacted severely due to global warming with weather conditions. Alaska and much of the Pacific have been experiencing tragic warm weather patterns due to global warming. Over the past 50 years, evidence from research showed us that temperatures in Alaska have been warming up and have exceeded more than 6 degrees (Holthaus). Snow and glaciers are melting. This is nothing compared to how dramatic it will be for our future because every year more ice is melting. On the other hand, there are countries impacted by droughts. Recently, California has encountered many natural disasters over the years due to global warming. Droughts are appearing more often in the west coast due to warm temperatures and little rain. Not enough rain in California can cause global warming to worsen the situation (Fountain). Warmer temperatures caused by global warming are a result in worsening the drought (Fountain). Ford also mentions that these droughts are nothing compared to what the Western half of the United States will be facing in years to …show more content…
Humans are cutting and burning down trees around the world for their own benefit. By clearing trees, which reduce their abilities to remove the carbon dioxide and consequently traps it in the atmosphere. The fact that trees can’t grow, they are not able to consume the carbon dioxide and also leave more carbon dioxide in our atmosphere. According to the The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), research stated that carbon dioxide made up of 82 percent of all the greenhouse gases used in the United States
