Our planet gets warmer every year. In fact, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration stated that research showed that 2014 is the warmest year in all the earth’s history (Rice). The release of harmful greenhouse gasses that are trapped into our atmosphere is the mainspring of our planet extremely heating. Professor Michael Daley states: “Gas molecules that absorb thermal infrared radiation, and are in significant enough quantity, can force the climate system. These type of gas molecules are called greenhouse gases” (Lallanila). Globally, there are countries that have faced serve floods, droughts, diseases, and endless conflicts that are caused by burning fossil fuels. Research showed that the Earth’s temperatures have exceeded 1.5 degrees (Fears). Many countries around the world have been impacted severely due to global warming with weather conditions. Alaska and much of the Pacific have been experiencing tragic warm weather patterns due to global warming. Over the past 50 years, evidence from research showed us that temperatures in Alaska have been warming up and have exceeded more than 6 degrees (Holthaus). Snow and glaciers are melting. This is nothing compared to how dramatic it will be for our future because every year more ice is melting. On the other hand, there are countries impacted by droughts. Recently, California has encountered many natural disasters over the years due to global warming. Droughts are appearing more often in the west coast due to warm temperatures and little rain. Not enough rain in California can cause global warming to worsen the situation (Fountain). Warmer temperatures caused by global warming are a result in worsening the drought (Fountain). The cooperation of nations coming together to help fight this major issue together, might help save us and the future. Nations setting limitations on carbon dioxide and other green house gases can help fight climate change and global warming. The use of renewable energy should definitely be encouraged.
