I always have followed the saying “if you work hard in life now you will not have to work as hard later.” This saying applies not only to how I work during school now, but how I participate in activities outside of school. To excel in what you want to achieve in life, I believe you need to put in the best effort and try your best in whatever you do. Living by this idea has helped me become a leader in the things I do. It has helped me put others at the same standard as myself and it helps me show my character. Members of the National Honor Society have immense amounts of great character, citizenship, respect for others, and leadership qualities. I am going to share with you why I should be expected into the Roland-Story National Honor Society.
As a student, every class I have taken or am taking gets my best effort put into it. Often times when a student doesn’t understand something they get discouraged and give up, but I

Roland-Story offers students within each grade to be involved in a Norseman Way class which teaches leadership skills that I can use within and without sports. The class has made a very big impact on me and the ways I lead. For softball, I am in charge of a “pod” group made up of some underclassmen that also play softball. As a leader, I check in with all of the girls, hold them accountable for coming to practices, help them work told their goals, and most importantly make sure they are enjoying the sport. Not only do I do this as their teammate but I do it so they have someone to look up to or can go to with anything, not only for softball but with anything. I also use my leadership skills in school while helping others, and taking charge in group projects. I try and put organization to the group activities we do with assigning each person a part, and helping anyone if needed. Roland-Story has taught me not only how to lead but how to be a good leader in all things I
