This story is going to be about my Uncle. Growing up in my time was not easy but I did have fun and enjoy myself because of the friends I had. In Highschool I was that cool and relax person. I didn’t always like to be in the way and get in trouble because if I get in trouble in school I get in trouble at home too. After school I would get my work done at the library because that’s where all the girls was at and I would ask for help which they did do. After getting my work done I would go an hang out with my friends go many places. One places I remember going is to my high school basketball games. Growing up in my days 1970’s was fun. We wear our hairs in afros, we wear platform shoes, bell bottom jeans and people hang around in court yard to listen to they the music and enjoy themselves, You still can leave your doors unlock because it was not that much crime going on back then. Malls was just coming along but they didn’t have the technology that we have today. There were no cells phone, computers and microwaves. Also the economy was bad because the federal baguet did not pass and states didn’t get money. Meat and coffee was so expensive that you couldn’t afford it. However Mcdonald’s burgers was nineteen cents and gas was thirty two cents a gallon. People seemed a little more trusting back in the day the they are today. There wasn 't no cable tv or videos games to play but if you wanted to listen to the radio you have to use the a track player. One thing I like that was fun was go to the drive in movies and watch the Godfather. In highschool I had fun. I went to senior prom in the 10t and,11th grade and have a great time. And I went my 12th grade and had a great time as well. I went to the basketball and football games and had lots of fun. In high school all I wanted to do was have fun and enjoy my four years of high school and I …show more content…
One reason is that I wouldn’t like wearing tight clothes that feels uncomfortable to walk around in. The second reason is that I wouldn’t be able to have a fun which means I couldn’t contact none of my friends to hang out with. The third reason is that I wouldn 't be able to play video games which I know I would be bored. Third reason is that there wasn’t no cable to watch which means I wouldn’t have been watching sports channel, movies channels and tv shows. However playing music, playing cards in a courtyard, going to the drive in movies is something I would like to do. Also going to the basketball games when it 's lots of people there and it 's very loud that you can 't hear yourself which is fun. Another thing I would like to do is go back in 1970 to see how everyone would dress up for dances and prom because they are different how people would dress today. The most important is that I realize that my grandmother, uncle and myself enjoy our four years in high school and hang around people that we had fun with. And I know I will continue to have fun in my entire

I interviewed my seventy-five year old grandpa Donnie, researched the Voyles lineage book that my grandma Arlene helped compile, and talked with my dad in order to find out more about my family’s history. According to Grandpa Donnie, it all began in 1759 when Jacob Voils, his wife, and his four sons landed in Port Charleston from Wales. Jacob was a poor man and could not afford the family’s way to Charleston. Desperate, he made a deal with the ship’s captain to indenture his oldest son William Voils as a crew hand for four years in exchange for the family’s way. I decided to write about my relationship with my dad in this post because Father’s Day just passed and because I’ve already made a post about the incredible bond I have with my dad. In that post I mentioned that he was away in Korea when I was born and I didn’t get to see him until I was 7 months old. My mother, who was only 22 at the time, had a lot of responsibility taking care of the three of us who were all under 3 years old. When my dad came home he took over the caregiving duties for me completely because he wanted to make sure he bonded with me. There was a solid attachment built between the two of us at that time that has been tested over time but never frayed.…
