Essay On My Experience In School

Improved Essays
I walked out from OLPH, my old catholic school, as a immature kid who was looking forward to never coming back to it again. I was asked to leave after 6th grade, and my parents decided to send me to public school until I graduate 8th grade. The reason I was asked to leave was because I was disruptive and immature. On the first day of school, I showed up and I was ready to have a whole new experience in school. In the end, I became a fool at my new school. As I walked in I expected to be greeted by at least one student, but I was greeted by the principle. He explained how this school is a friendly school, and how I will love it in time. As the first week went on, I made no friends at the time, so my spirit was low. I wanted to make new friends at the time, so I can make school more enjoyable. I tried talking to some friend groups, but it seemed they did not want to talk to a new student at the time. I was getting angry that I was making no friends, and I had no idea what to do about it. While I was in class, i disrupted the teacher, and a student by me started to laugh. I saw this as my chance to make a new friend, so I started to become more disruptive to make the student …show more content…
I saw this as a chance to get close to them. I started to crack jokes and disturb the teacher constantly to impress my new friends. They all thought I was hilarious because I was making a fool out of myself. I kept this up for many months to get closer with them. As time went by, I started to become worse and worse. I knew no limitations at the time, so I was a wild child desperately trying to get peoples attention. At the time I did not know how much I annoyed the other students until I saw some of their faces. You could tell that some of the kids did not like me and wanted me to shut up. I did not care for them because as long as I had some friends i was

I interrupted a lot during the class when I was in middle school. Especially in math class, I really liked to interrupt when she was explaining the homework, because I didn’t like her teaching style that much. She got pretty mad and she let me got out of the classroom. I didn’t know why she would do that and I thought I was in a big trouble.…

High school. People say it’s either the best or worst four years of your life. Of course they never give you the details of what makes them the worst or best years. Which means, I, a terrified 8th grader convince myself that they will be the worst four years of my life. Honestly it is easy to guess that.…

Growing up, I would describe my background being placed in the middle class spectrum. I was born and raised in Miami Beach, Florida. My parents were migrants from Haiti coming from families that were not impoverished but also not well off. My father came here young in the 80s, being able to adjust and learn how to survive and live in this country. Everything that he has and own was built from the ground up.…

Freshman year of high school is scary for anyone, the enormous transition from being a top dog at middle school, back to an underclassman; wondering if your high school teachers will be as unforgiving as your 8th grade teacher’s descriptions, or even just that uncertainty that comes along with any major change. As a homeschooler entering school system for the first time, and having completely skipped 8th grade, it was terrifying. I had no idea what to expect, I worried about being behind the other students, or having missed something in my homeschooling curriculum, even interacting with other kids was all unfamiliar. It definitely didn’t help that, at 13, I was the youngest person in the building. Just two days into the school year, I discovered that P-AP world…

After all, I was only ten years old and I think everyone can agree that kids can be mean, especially if someone is different. Understandably enough, fitting in was very important to me. So what if I had to stop acting the same way I had acted throughout my entire life? It is amazing to see what people, especially children, are willing to do just to fit in. Similarly, moving away from home as a child took a massive emotional toll on me.…

My Junior year of high school was my challenging year, the reason to that is because we had to study for our Act also we had our grad MCAs to take. I must say it was really difficult knowing that we had those two big major tests in the same week. The amount of studying was ridiculous but in my head for a whole two months I was reminding myself that it will benefit me in the future that I need this to graduate. One part I didn 't have to worry was a portion of the MCA like the Algebra part. But the part that was extremely hard for me was geometry.…

Today my parents asked me how school went. I wanted to respond with "Horrible, I never want to go back", but it's only one week since I've started the 10th grade. Therefore, I responded with the same "fine" I have been responding with since 7th grade. To be honest, I sometimes make it seem worse than it is. I could actually try to be positive, smile while I walk down the halls, laugh at unamusing jokes, seem like I actually want to be there with everyone else.…

When entering junior high, we were constantly reminded by teachers, parents, and school administrators how different it was from elementary school. It was supposed to be the start of a transition from childhood to young adulthood, and though I discounted many of these sentiments at the time, looking back it certainly was. In an instant, it seemed, everyone started swearing and the hallways began to smell of a putrid mixture of not enough or too much cologne. For the first time we had to change before gym, no one really sure whether it was more socially acceptable to change in a bathroom stall or feign confidence by doing it out in the open. Talk swirled of who got their periods, who was wearing what bra size, and which boys needed to stop cultivating…
