Essay On My Birthday Surprise

Improved Essays
It was a bright sunny and warm morning in Tennessee on October 19th . It was my birthday and the day before my mother told me she had a fun surprise for me the next day. I woke up early around eight o'clock and hurried to get dressed. I went down stairs in our cabin that we were staying in to see if breakfast was ready and find out what my birthday surprise was. I got down stairs and I could smell the waffles my mother made. I sat down and she fixed my plate and handed it to me and said "Happy birthday Hartley, were going to have a fun day". I opened my birthday presents and then finally asked what my fun birthday was going to consist of. She looked and me and smiled really big and said "Okay so today were going to go horseback riding". My dad was the first one to get on his, then my mom got on hers and my sisters followed after her. I was the last one to get on my horse but I didn’t mind because while everyone was getting on their horse I was taking pictures. After everyone got on their horse and were saddled up we were finally able to start going up the mountains. It took a few minutes to get use to feeling like I wasn't going to fall off but eventually I got use to it. The horses were trained not to follow in the center of the path but rather to follow on the side closes to the edge of the mountain where it fell like you and the horse were about to fall to your death. Although it was rather uncomfortable being on the edge of the mountain the view was incredible. I had my camera around my neck and every so often the horses would stop so I was able to take pictures. The view of the mountains was one of the most beautiful sights I have ever …show more content…
We got stopped and you could see everything at the top. You could see all the different mountains and valleys and the pretty trees as they were turning orange, red and yellow. We were able to get off the horses and take pictures. I have so many pictures from the whole trip. The view was breath taking. The mountains and horses are two of my favorite things and I have always told my mom that I wanted to ride horses in the mountains, so she made sure I was able to get that for my birthday. After we got through taking pictures and viewing the mountain we got back on the horses and started to make our way back down the

Mt. Sentinel is not the most well known mountain in Colorado, but it is very hard to climb. When you start out on the trail it really is not that bad. That is only when you start though. As you keep going on the trail, it keeps getting higher, and higher. Living in Kansas, I am not so used to intense altitudes like that, so it is easy to get out of breath.…

I looked out over the jagged rocky path we had just labored through, I gazed at the sharp Rocky Mountains in the distance and observed the breathtaking deep blue sky beyond that. Little did I know there was much more to come. We traveled along a narrow path. To the right, a rock wall straight up; sharp and uneven and to the left a steep drop-off with its slippery rocks, it was unforgiving and rickety.…

My first time at Cedar Point It was June 6th, 2016, the end of my eighth-grade year at TKMS, I woke up, at 5:30, jumped out of bed, got dressed, ate, and yelled at my mom to get in the car, all by 6:20. But of course we weren’t even close to ready, and we didn’t even need to leave until 7:30. So after reluctantly going back inside, to pack a spare pair of clothes, sunscreen, and our tickets (which we almost forgot), we were finally ready to go and it was already 7:40, “MOM!!!” I yelled panicking, “WE’RE GONNA BE LATE!!!” “We’re fine,” my mom said, “now calm down and say goodbye.”…
