Essay On Mr Funke

Decent Essays
I have had many teachers. I have went to many schools. Though nobody or no teacher has inspired me like this one. His name was Chad Funke. Also called Mr.Funke.

Mr.Funke was very upbeat, and always kinda had a pep in his step. I’m just gonna go ahead and say that i am definitely not the smartest guy in my school. Sometimes i am lazy, and just don’t do my work, but with Mr.Funke it was different. I really liked the way he taught us. I understood everything that he said even if it took me a while to figure out, which usually did not happen. Mr.Funke was a soccer coach, but he really wanted to coach basketball. Which is the sport that I play. He is also an 8th grade science teacher. So it was cool because i could talk about basketball with him and he would understand. So about halfway through the year he started reading this book. I forgot the specific name of it, but it was talking about teenagers. He would read the book and then give us his perspective on what he just read. Which if you think about it a lot of teachers wouldn’t do that unless that had too. Sometimes what he said inspired me. I’d like to think i was one of his favorite students that year, and i’d like him to know he was my favorite teacher of all time.

He was out for a long time. So he called a sub in there for us. Which was kind of depressing because i didn’t really like the sub. So we got done with all our work then tcaps came and he wrote us a note to do good for him. So we did. After that all we did was watch forensic files.

Mr.Funke was pretty cool, and i could relate to him. He used to always tell us his story’s about him and his buddy when they were teenagers, and i remember one time he told us about how he burnt a whole field down. So out of all my teachers he was my favorite, and he inspired me to pursue what i want to do someday. To not let my dreams go. I’ll always remember

Having gone to two different high schools I got to experience, firsthand, just how different two schools in the same county can be. Marvin ridge and Weddington High School are completely different in their appearance, their students and their academics. Marvin was the first high school that I attended. Its nickname was " Marvin Rich". The Ridge had a certain feeling to it when you stepped foot in its doors, almost as if the air was filled with exhaust from pricey cars and cologne from name brand stores.…

In all my years of education, no teacher has inspired me in a subject as much as Mr. Karmali, my calculus teacher in my senior year of high school. Mehebub S. Karmali, was a old asian-indian, in his mid sixties, who was proud to be teaching high school students the concepts of calculus. At the beginning of the year, I thought that he would be my worst nightmare from how my sister, and my upperclassmen friends talked about him. However, at the end of the year, I realized he was the complete opposite, he was the most dedicated teacher in the entire school. He was not just being strict, giving hard tests, or giving terrible grades because he wanted to be mean, he was passionate about the subject, and was dedicated to teach the students.…

1 I come from a long line of educators and administrators on both sides of my family. Various relatives of mine have taught me to understand and appreciate the importance of education. This being the case, they have inspired my decision to be a teacher, preferably an elementary school teacher. Last year, I sat in on my aunt’s third grade class at Washington Irving, an elementary school in my district that I attended for three years. After visiting the classroom a handful of times, I absolutely fell in love.…

A Diamond in the Rough My sophomore year of high school feels like it happened a millennium ago, and my memories of those nine months have essentially vanished from my head. Try as I might, the only memory I can recall in vivid detail is of my second period class, Algebra 2, with Mrs. Parks. Far from my favorite subject, Algebra had little importance to me; rather all of its significance comes from the fact that it was my first interaction with Mrs. Parks which would begin a two year journey I will never forget.…

“A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning”. (Brad Henry) Not every person can be a teacher; it takes a certain kind of individual to be a teacher. Some qualities that teachers consume are patient, kindness, passionate, knowledge, and heart, also there are other many formal qualities that a teacher must need to be successful. At twelve years old in seventh grade I had this teacher that inspired me to become a teacher and ever since then, becoming a teacher has been a priority.…
