I am a monolingual myself, however I have always had strong passion for languages, particularly the Spanish language. Personally, I believe that speaking in a foreign language is a beautiful way to express a culture and communicate with various people from diverse backgrounds. I have been taking Spanish for four of the Middle Years Program (MYP) years: grade 6, grade 7, grade 8, grade 9, and now grade 10. During the course, I’ve learnt a wide variety of vocabulary such as; fruits, vegetables, meats, clothes, nature, sea animals, land animals, occupations, weather, physical descriptions, family relationships etc. The MYP years have a range of units which includes: Actions, descriptions, weather and seasons, school, food, health, transportation, leisure, work, the environment, technology, cities, music and culture, idioms, tongue twisters, accents of the Spanish language, conjugations of verbs, such as: past, present, conditional, and …show more content…
