For as long as history can tell there has been corruption far and wide. People or groups who gain the power they need to either make a country flourish or tear it to the ground. It always seems to be the ladder. In current day events we have two aspects of a misuse of power. ISIS the terrorists group originating from Iraq and Syria, has taken away the basic human right of living your life in peace. They’ve done this by shooting, bombing, and hanging innocent people. Another example of an injustice of power falls upon a county clerk by the name of Kim Davis. Although not as aggressive, Davis has taken her power and challenged the Supreme Court by defying the laws of the constitution. They live and operate under the laws of a religion, and act as the hand of their own god to carry out any discipline towards sinful actions. Although two different types of power are here, they can cause an equal amount of destruction. ISIS is the type of power that wasn’t given, it was taken. Fear has caused them to gain power and have some level of influence on people. According to Intel gathered by ABC news “ISIS saw a series of successes as it has cut its way from Syria into Iraq and towards Baghdad using a combination of military expertise and unimaginable brutality. Social media accounts associated with ISIS have published disturbing videos purportedly showing ISIS fighters taunting, torturing and executing scores of unarmed prisoners.
