Social media is something that is a part of my daily routine. Most of the time, I get on Facebook to check on family members that live in different states, but end up coming across interesting things that are happening in the world around us. One day an article labeled “Missing Black Teens in D.C.” stood out to me. During the month of March, there was a huge incident is Washington D.C. The incident was spreading quickly by social media. Several teens went missing in Washington D.C. in a short amount of time. I wasn’t informed much about the incident through the one article on Facebook, therefore I did my research. I believe this is because the reporters were African American himself. If he is like any other African America in the world as of today, he would feel that blacks get put in harsh situations and is trying to help defend them. He touched base on more of how it is sad that the community has to help get the world out, and that social media is helping get awareness more than the deputies. As was mentioned before, ABC also made it seem like the situation is not as bad as it is by, the reporter speaking with a careless tone. He somewhat went off topic beginning to speak about teens communicate by social media and people their age cannot go about financing and proving for themselves. He also mentions that he believes most of then missing black and Latin teens walked off voluntarily. In conclusion, bias can come in different types. Everyone has there on opinion on certain subjects. Many people’s biases are based on things like if they were offended by what was said or if their belief does not match another’s. During situation, such as the missing teens, most people who are saying there is not much attention on the issue are the ones that have children, sibling or younger nieces and nephews. No matter what the situation is, everyone will have their own
