Microbiology laboratory is a branch of clinical laboratory. The main purpose of the microbiology laboratory is work to discover the reasons and causes of the diseases and treatment. Microbiology laboratory is one of important laboratory in clinical laboratory, because interested in studying infectious diseases. There are four type of microorganisms that causes infectious disease are bacteria, parasites, fungi and viruses. Microbiology laboratory has many sections and each section do many types of tests. The microbiology laboratory has many sections such as bacteriology, parasitology, virology and mycology. This parasitology laboratory is providing which type of parasitic infections, and have three ways to diagnosis parasite infection is blood, stool and direct examination of the parasites. There are many type of test do in parasitology laboratory such as blood parasite diagnosis, fecal antigen detection and parasite antibody detection. There are test for find parasites is fecal (stool) examination, this test help the doctor which parasites caused the disease such as cramping, diarrhea and flatulence (gas). The lab technologists is work under the supervision when they are do the test in lab. “The CML scientific staff includes technologists (bachelor's degree with certification by examination), technicians (2-year degree), laboratory aides (high school diploma or equivalent), and a doctoral-level director”.
