Essay On Mandatory Military Service

In some countries two years of military service should be mandatory, but not in this one. In The United States we are in the safest and should not be forced, or needed to be in the military unless we are wanting to, or took an interest into the military and know what they are doing.
In the Constitution clearly states in Article Three: section three “Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.”(“The Constitution of the United States: A Transcription”). If young people in America went through two years of military service most of the people who was forced to serve in the military would turn on American and would be a person of treason. Many countries in the world today still force their men, and sometimes women, to go into service(Chandler). Some people in High School would like to go straight for college, and you cannot go to college for two years until military service is over. Military service might have better colleges, but some people with their heart set on a certain college wants to go there right after high school. instead of waiting an extra two years. After military service most people might not go to college they might start a new life and forget their job that they really wanted.
Although there are a lot of disadvantages, there are many advantages. They believe this because citizens would become stronger not only physically, but mentally as well. Our society as a whole would become more interested in world affairs as well, since no one would want to be participating in another war(Chandler). Even though these advantages are good, military service should not be mandatory.
In the United States we are the safest because of our military, army, and or marines. In this great free country we should be free to choose if we will join or not. Freedom of
