When a teenager turns 21, most people say you can drink now or you’re legal to drink alcohol. In US the legal drinking age in all 50 states is 21 years of age. The problem of underage drinking has become a major problem in Unite States, especially in school and colleges. Some of the people drink and drive which cause a deadly accident and usually people died. There have been debates going on that discuss if the legal drinking age should be lowered or should it stay the same. I believe that the drinking age should not be lowered and leave it as it is because there will be more accidents on the road, academic failure, and teenagers can get harmful effects on their health.
The first reason for not lowering the age of drinking to 18 is that there will be more car accidents on road. When more people drive under the age of 21, then more car crashes will be on road. People who drink and drive usually are the reason for car accidents. Teenagers are not responsible and mature enough, so as a result, they drink and drive. Driving while drinking will make the community unsafe and people will be scared to drive around.
