There are many people throughout the American society who are being discriminated because of their low socioeconomic status. Not everybody could have a life that is fulfilling, even if it was fulfilling you have to work hard to succeed in life. Classism and immigration are two of my weakest area of cultural proficiency. I have been surrounded by people of different socioeconomic status throughout my life. Even though I have not been discriminated based on low socioeconomic status, but I have contribute to prejudice and/or oppression. There are people who thinks that they are better than me because of the educational level and their income. There are times when I can be prejudice to people of different class. My dad don't want people to judge him and look down on him. He also wants to show other people that his kids are better than theirs. Asian people tend to compete with each other to claim their dominance at time. I have also suggest interest theory because there are certain racial groups that I don't want to live around the neighborhood. I do not prefer to live near a Vietnamese family because to me I don't really communicate with my own culture much. For me personally, I have been around Vietnamese people before, but I have notice that they have a mouth. Majority of them will start spreading false rumors and I do not like to be around that. I have more Americanization norms and value. I do not like to be around phony people. Personally, I want people to respect other people's privacy and they need to acknowledge that this is America where you respect others. There are times when I would be prejudice towards Vietnamese people who act like they are wealthy people. Especially when they go back to visit Vietnam. I have heard people in Vietnam said that they want to come to America because you could have a better
