Major academia’s, and universities often mention a saying; a higher education, what does this mean? Every university has a classic liberal arts core, which give a foundation of learning that has been around for hundreds of years. I had dreams when I was young of being a doctor and hoped to cure my mother’s illness. I had dreams of changing the entire world. Granted, those dreams were only the dreams of a child, but they have lasted many, many years. Now the time has come for me to make those dreams become a reality. A liberal arts education is an experience that can prepare me to conquer barriers and change lives. I believe science is a wonderful opportunity to change those lives. I have always enjoyed biology and other science classes; they have been subjects that I have excelled at all of my high school life. I believe a liberal arts education, is going to guide me in the right direction, toward my passion, and help me accomplish something greater, than a doctor.
