Lead consumption in drinking water
Many people who have consumed lead may have to face some serious problems with lead. Consuming water that contains lead, is not only unhealthy but could be fatal. Drinking water that lead is in, can affect many body systems and even do some serious damage. There are many ways that lead can affect people. Lead is known as something that is very dangerous if consumed.
A little bit of lead can affect the human's body and the way in functions. If any lead gets in the bloodstream it can damage many things like the brain, kidney,liver, hearing damage, speech, behavior problems,decreased muscle, brain growth and nervous system. Lead Poisoning is a serious matter. It is also a fatal condition in which lead builds up in …show more content…

If lead enters the body it interferes with normal cell function and physical logical process. “The nervous system is the most sensitive to lead.Drinking water is usually a smaller source of exposure to lead, but this varies greatly among homes, schools, and other buildings, and can add to other lead sources. Infants drinking formula can get half of their lead exposure from drinking water.”(Psu). Lead can get into water by using pesticides and even if there is lead pipes. Lead can even corrode metal from metal faucets and even lead fixtures made from brass. Zinc can also carry lead impurities. Usually the amount of lead corroded from metal plumbing generally lead increases as water's corrosivity. Water corrosivity is controlled by the water's acidity and calcium carbonate. If water has a ph level that is less than 7 and that has low calcium carbonate is more corrosive than water that has a ph higher than 7 and that has higher calcium
