You would think that a girl with a Latino background would have a lot of life experience or be discriminated in some way or be scared about what’s going on with DACA. Here I am not having anything in mind and just looking at this laptop for hours. Still having no clue on what to say that could have on your toes wondering what happen and how I over came it I’m going to talk about how I’m doing the most untypical job for a Latino. You typically see Latino’s working as cleaners, doing outdoor labor, or working in fast food never really in the threading business. I’m Samantha Fuentes-Rivas and I thread eyebrows. I started threading eyebrow a little over five months ago it all started with me just trying to find a job so I can have a little pocket …show more content…
With me being 4’11 and 17-years-old it was hard and still is hard to get customers to come and sit in my chair and let me tame the beast and every time a customer just right off the bat says no or ignore me when I ask them if they would like to try with me it does bring a person confidences down. I understand that I’m still a new face in the shop and that I look like I’m 12-year-old and the people that have trusted me to handle their eyebrows and have loved my work they are the reasons why I love my job and I’m still willing to do it. If it weren’t for them I probably would have given up five months ago and be working at a fast food restaurant. I had always been the one to say that I could never do eyebrows with thread or wax because it’s an art and I’ve never really been talented and I was very focus on the medical field and I still am. If it wasn’t for that leap I took at trying something new I would have never found something that I loving doing almost as much as I love learning about the medical field. Well I guess I did have something to say obviously not something that would keep you on your toes wondering what happens next but its something its my
