Lane Frost
Lane Clyde Frost was born on October 12, 1963. Lane Frost was a rising star in bull riding, but his promising career was cut short two years after he began. Lane Frost had a talent for riding bulls, and he died doing what he loved. Frost isn’t only remembered for his ability for riding bulls, he is also known for his kind heart and warm smile. Lane Frost died in Cheyenne, Wyoming on July 30, 1989.
Lane was born to Elsie and Clyde Frost on October 12, 1963. Although his parents were living in Lapoint, Utah, Elsie gave birth to Lane in La junta, Co. Lane has an older sister, Robin and a younger brother Cody. Both are married today with families of their own. Robin has two boys and Cody has three boys.

At the age of 19, Frost received a full membership in the PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association), in 1983. Lane Frost was titled runner up “Rookie of the Year” in 1983. Frost also received the ‘’Tough Luck” award, for his bone-jarring. He received that reward at the 1983 “Super Bull” competition in Del Rio, TX.
In 1984, Lane talked his father into letting him build a bull riding arena on the family’s ranch. Lane’s father and Lane designed the arena. They used the area for bull riding and for working cattle. Lane qualified for the Nationals Final Rodeo for the first time in 1984. Lane qualified every year from 1984 until his death in 1989.
Lane married Kellie Kyle on January 5, 1985. The reception was held at the United Methodist Church in Quanah, Texas. Lane and his newly wed moved back to the family ranch, so Lane could teach a bull riding class at the arena he built. Lane loved the thought of helping others who were interested in the sport.
