King Tutankhamen began school when he was four year’s old. He learned to read and write. He was a decent student and graduated with honors. At the tender age of nine, he became the king of Egypt. Did he die of an injury, an illness or was he murdered? There are many different speculations about how he died and all of them are still being debated today. Many argue that King Tut may have been killed because of his greed and power. Some believe he fell from his chariot during a battle, broke his leg and it became infected. Others believe he died from a blow to the back of his head. Then there are others who believe he may have been poisoned. It is impossible to name an exact cause of King Tut’s death, as there were many possible causes that surrounded his sudden demise.
Because King Tut was very wealthy, he was buried in an extravagant tomb full of gold artifacts in the Valley of the Kings. His tomb was known as the "KV 62," which was found in 1922 by a team of Archaeologists led by British Egyptologist Howard Carter. His tomb was made up of four rooms filled with lots of treasures. Inside one of the rooms, there were paintings on the walls that conveyed the story of his memorial and his voyage.
