In today’s society, there are many people who commit illegal acts involving alcohol, such as drinking and driving, underage drinking, or other acts where the person consuming alcohol is not able to make an informed decision in what they are doing. There are many solutions to help fix that like laws prohibiting such acts, or provisions made by parents to help youth not commit acts such as the ones described. However, there is one easy solution that could solve many problems that come with the consumption of alcohol at a young age; making the legal age to consume alcohol 25 years of age. Making the legal drinking age to twenty five would be beneficial because it is scientifically proven that it is when the brain is finished developing, it will help reduce the amount of excessive drinking at a young age, and help reduce uninformed decisions that are associated with alcohol consumption at a young age.

(cdc.gov) Drinking at a young age is typically what young people do to get drunk, and getting drunk is already well over the “excessive” amount.
