Jeffrey Dahmer is one of the most well-known serial killers during the exact time period of June 18, 1978 through July 19, 1991. Characterized as a psychopathic serial killer (Bonn, 2014, p.66), Dahmer was born on May 21, 1960 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The eldest of two sons born to parents Joyce Annette who worked as a teletype machine instructor. And Lionel Herbert Dahmer who was a student at Marquette University studying chemistry. Neither of his parents devoted much time to their oldest son, which is one of the believed causes that triggered his killings. His mother would work herself into states of anxiety, and his father would always be busy with school.

Steven Tuomi and Dahmer met at a gay bar afterwards the two proceed to head back to the Ambassador Hotel, where Dahmer had rented a room for the evening. There were supposedly not intentions on killing Tuomi but the results of the night before showed differently. The next morning Dahmer found him lying beneath with his chest caved in and blood seeping from his mouth. It was later said that he wanted to rip out Tuomi’s heart, which explains why Dahmer was categorized as a Hedonist Lust Killer (Bonn, 2014, p. 80). Hedonist Lust Killers are known to preserve parts of their victims as “trophies”, with an increased desire to kill as time passed. After the discovery of Steven, Jeffrey decided to make his way to purchase a suitcase large enough to store the body in. He then moved the body into his grandmother’s basement where he proceeded to dismember all body parts from the main torso. After hours of sawing and pound of the parts he disposed of them into the trash as with most of his later victims but kept the separated head. A few weeks later he returned to bleach the skull and used it for sexual acts until the skull became too fragile and had to be disposed
