The most pressing issue affecting public education today is the lack of funding. Unfortunately, funding dictates the majority of decisions that are made in education. Through funding, students can explore many potential career paths through a wide-offering of courses. Providing our students with proper materials and a safe, comfortable place to learn is highly linked to student success. Retaining and recruiting highly qualified teachers is a main focus of budgets at the local, state, and national levels. Funding is at the root of all major decisions affecting public education today. With or without funding, every teacher is tasked with providing students with a quality education. Fortunately for Randolph County, leaders intentionally appropriate funds to provide students with a wide-selection of course offerings that will help propel them in the direction of their chosen career. Whether our students dream of being in the medical field, computer field, contributing to North Carolina’s agricultural history, being the next musician, artist, or even a teacher, we offer it all. In Randolph County, we are blessed to have Chromebooks, Smart Boards, new textbooks, virtual libraries, and up-to-date software readily at our disposal. We often take our clean, freshly-painted, aesthetically-pleasing facilities for granted until we visit campuses that are not as graciously funded.
