Based off of the information given to me in the play, and in videos, Caesar would have hurt the empire of Rome. “Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look; He thinks too much: such men are dangerous”, Caesar once said. This shows that he acknowledges a potential enemy, but does not take action upon it, proving how naïve he is. Brutus knew this, and therefore he acted upon it. I do not believe he acted out of spite against Caesar, rather he did what he believed was the best for Rome, which supports my belief that Brutus is a patriot. After the Battle of Phillippi Brutus was so distraught over what he had done to Rome that he committed suicide. He was willing to take his life because he saw it as the only punishment that could make up for what had just occurred.
