On Sunday February 29th, 2015, I interviewed W.E. at his daughters home to speak about his Irish culture. I was invited over for Sunday dinner around 3 o'clock. We spoke at the dinner table for a few hours after dinner. He entertained me with stories about his younger years and his life growing up. W.E. is an 86-year-old male, approximately 5'11 and 119 pounds. W.E. has short white hair, blue eyes and is has fair skin. He is tall, very thin and has a slouched posture. I would say that W.E. is placed in the stage of Ego Integrity. "Ego integrity is facilitated when an older adult has successfully accomplished tasks earlier in life" (Taylor, 2015, p.429). He reminisces about the "good ole days" and how he accomplished everything he wanted to. He is a loving father, and a supportive grandfather. Although I believe he is placed in the stage of Ego Integrity, he does state how he regrets some things he has done in the past. He mentioned that he regrets how much he used to drink because of his Irish background, and hard ships growing up. He also wishes he dealt with his money more wisely.
