However, I wish I had someone who pointed to what I was saying on my Prezi, because it took away attention from me and made the audience have to search for content on the Prezi. I also wish I practiced my speech a little bit more, because the audience could tell I winged it through my use of “um”s, like at (3:58), use of “like” every ten seconds and awkward transitions between topics. One being making eye contact with more than just the back of the room. An important part I hope to change is grabbing the audience’s attention. If I start out boring, the rest of the speech is going to be equally boring. I also hope to improve on simple public speaking aspects, like posture and the use of unnecessary transition words that just fill a void, like “um” and “like”. I’ll be sure to perform my speech more beforehand, so I can transition from topics better and know when it’s appropriate to do gestures. I’m glad I get to watch myself perform and realize what I can improve upon for the next speech. I will feel way more prepared next time
