The character Kess’s story led me to wonder if a small town in where I would like remain. Small town life would be amazing for a number of reasons like safety, traditional values, and overall united atmosphere. Personally, I’m passionate about my hometown for not only the reasons listed, but also because everyone is always there to support, encourage, and provide for everyone else. Although I’m incredibly proud of where I came from, I can’t help but want to explore other places, learn more things, meet new people, and see what else the world has for me. However, I feel guilty for wanting to leave because I have a beautiful life in Whittemore that I wouldn’t trade for anything. I think the hardest part is when you leave people assume you are leaving because you don't like the life you have and are never coming back, but my reason for leaving would be to see what else is out there. All the same, part of me wants to remain in my hometown because I understand how rewarding, loving, and united it is, but the other part of me thinks it is ridiculous to settle for just what is comfortable when so many other great things could be out
