When the word ‘Nature’ comes to mind, people think of the environment, trees, birds, a set of ecosystems, etc. Clearly, it’s not only that, nature is a combination of forces and processes which include human behavior …show more content…
For without it, living a sustainable and harmonious lifestyle would be difficult. Why it is that nature has a higher moral status than the artificial? In many cases, the destruction of natural values/habitats through natural forces such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions tend to give rise to new landscapes with unique characteristics which we tend to perceive as something unique. Some of which are still present such as the Grand Canyon, another example could be the mass extinction of dinosaurs which dates back to millions of years where scientifically proposed evidence show that volcanic/asteroid activities caused this to occur (which are all natural causes and not human related). I do believe that recognizing the importance of nature and respecting the laws of nature promote a well contained environment. Although we may not be able to control earth’s natural changes but it is certain that man kind and his actions will affect them. I will take a very common phenomenon we are currently witnessing which is global warming and its impact on climate change. Indeed global warming occurs naturally due to variations in earth’s natural systems which occasionally cause climate …show more content…
I think its mankind’s instinct to improve his/her living lifestyle and chances of survival at the expense of other natural beings (be it animals, plants, trees, etc.). But sometimes we don’t realize the prominence of things until we lose them. Without having what is natural in life we won’t have artificial creations. Let us take for example, the automotive industry, which relies heavily on a multiple set of laws, such as the laws of thermodynamics, aerodynamics, geometrical aspects, motion and many others. None of these would’ve existed if it weren’t for the laws of nature. In other words, the laws of nature are considered to be the core of the fundamental principles of everything we (humans) create. We are using the laws of nature to create something artificial, so somehow the artificial is based on nature. Hence, this further validates why nature has a higher moral status and significance than the artificial, being its origin. And, being an environmental health activist, I greatly value the importance of
