In recent years we have saw the rise for a college education become much more important to the young adults of America. College application turn-ins have increased and more children now attend a college or university. What has changed the importance of college in the minds of teenagers? College is now seen as an outlet for many students, it helps them maybe escape from a place they know would not benefit them if they stayed there and give them the readiness they need for a future. College is all about furthering your education and providing the best education the system has to offer. This is the biggest milestone of someone’s college experience. Many people believe that with their degree they are given more job satisfaction. “College teaches students to be more resourceful so they are better able to transfer their knowledge and skills to other types of jobs more easily than others.” (classroom.synonym.com) As Faber is saying, the opportunity for jobs is all around you. With the knowledge of the skills that you have you are not limited to one specific area, it is possible for you to branch out. Along with job satisfaction comes personal satisfaction, you have achieved a lifelong goal. This goal has now aligned you right where you need to be to provide for you and your family. The most well-known positive effect of a college degree is overall the higher wages you receive. This program can allow you to attend northeast for two years completely free if you are a Tennessee resident who recently graduated from high school. The only thing that you are required to do is complete community service hours and attend mentoring meetings. Tennessee Promise is both a scholarship and mentoring program focused on increasing the number of students that attend college in our state. (tnpromise.gov) Northeast State has over 150 programs of study that you choose from. (northeaststate.edu). This can help make your experience much more enjoyable. Northeast also offers a program called parallel. This allows you to complete two years at Northeast State then transfer to another University allowing you to graduate with a four year degree. With this beneficial element you can attend a community college for two years completely free, saving you thousands of dollars before transferring to another
