In the “Perceptions of Climate Change: Linking Local and Global Perceptions through a Cultural Knowledge Approach” Beatrice Crona unraveled “the complexities of local vs global perceptions around climate change,” and essentially realized that there is a big difference between actuality and perception of how climate change is affecting the world (Crona, Wutich, Brewis & Gartin, 519). Climate change is not just a local problem, it is a global nightmare. It is not only a short term snag; it actually is and at all times has been a long term complication, which needs a long term solution. Climate change has majorly impacted the environment and people through weather changes, depletion of the ozone, and growing chlorofluorocarbon emissions.

People who disagree with climate change think it is not due to human activity, carbon dioxide emissions are being absorbed, or it is the suns fault. However multitudes of animals, such as the polar bear, have been majorly impacted by climate change. With the increase in temperature, it has caused their homes, at the poles, to have shorter winters which brought on reduced access to food supplies, lower cub survival rates, increase in deaths by downing, increase in cannibalism, and loss of access to denning areas. With the increase of global warming by humans polar bears have been disappearing quickly and are predicted that a half the three –fourths will be dead within this century. To help decrease climate change all we have to do is limit our carbon dioxide emissions by using energy-efficient appliances, having energy efficient vehicles, and buying better lightbulbs.
