To them, I am an evil piece of the puzzle that fits in perfectly with the rest. I am a part of America, the devil itself. “On August 9, someone posted a picture of the ISIS flag unfurled outside of the White House” (Kaufman 2). ISIS has declared war on the nation; their ultimate goal is to take over this country of freedom and order. They believe they will be rewarded for their so called ‘loyal’ actions in their afterlife, so they do not mind dying for their cause. “Former CIA deputy director Mike Morell told CBS News that the beheading video is an attempt to intimidate the U.S.” (Kaufman 1). They are trying to daunt the U.S.; I must fight this natural inclination of fear and encourage others to do likewise. They want to execute their plan to overtake the United States as Germany took over Austria. They are trying to scare us to keep from speaking out against them. I, as a puzzle piece, must stand up and continue to question any action that could jeopardize individuals’ freedoms, and I need to make the most of life in the process. …show more content…
