There are many great reasons to pursue in health related careers, but my favorite is helping others. Whether I help others in a hospital, a nursing home, or in public when someone is choking, I know I make some kind of difference. I also believe there are very useful skills to have that this program will offer. The possibilities become endless when it comes to the medical field and there will always be work available. I can also say that there is never a dull moment, at least that’s the way my mom puts it. When it comes to my career, my goal is to be a phlebotomist or a emergency medical technician. My first comes from my mom’s experience as a phlebotomist. My parents have always told me I should consider a career in the medical field …show more content…
This would also be great for emergency situations because I would know how to address the situation. The most important thing in my life is my family and nothing will stand in the way of me providing for them when they need me. I will never struggle the way my mom has. I will never question where our next meal will come from or how I will pay the bills. Most importantly, I will never rely on someone else to provide for me. I want my children to have a better life than me and my brothers have had. When I was little I was always fascinated by the people on the T.V. that where saving lives and I never really thought it could be me. When we wrote about what we wanted to be when we grow up in second grade, I chose to be a doctor and it always made me happy thinking about helping others. Little did I know that not everyone in the medical field was a doctor. Once I grew older and found out there was more to the medical field than being a doctor I explored my options a little just to find out that I wanted to be a phlebotomist, like my mother, or a emergency medical technician, like the ones who saved my
