The main aspect of the model includes the overall effectiveness of the treatment. In doing so, it assesses validity both internally and externally. There is fault in the research design of hypnotherapy experimentation that needs to be addressed. Hypnotherapy provides promising results in the fact that it shows high success rates and superior success rates in smoking cessation. A number of experiments have shed light on the fact that hypnotherapy works in the treatment of smoking cessation. The question that remains is how does it work? We know that there is some empirical support, but it is not always provided within the hypnotherapy experiments. Furthermore, hypnotherapy is still a newer topic in the psychology and medical realm. With that, there is still a number of questions that surround its validity. Not only that, but there is a need for better evaluations of the results. Since there is the possibility of providing false information that leads to higher smoking cessation rates there is a need for ways to test the levels of nicotine within the individual. In addition, although the immediate results provide high success rates in smoking cessation with the use of hypnotherapy that does not mean that it is a valid treatment option.
