Everyone feels hungry, it is the feeling that you get when your stomach is empty. But hunger is different, it is the thought of will there even be a next meal. Hunger is a big deal in the world and in America, it affects our health in many ways, there are many contributing factors to hunger, and schools and communities do many things to reduce hunger. There are ten things that you can do to stop hunger; Sustainable Food, Access to Credit, Food Donations, Transitioning, Urban Farming, Access to Education, Social Change, Government Intervention, Empowering Women, and Birth Control.

Well, food gives people the energy and nutrition that we need daily. Lack of food can cause you to not focus and learn. Hunger affects health in many ways like behavior skills, social skills, and malnutrition. Malnutrition is the lack of nutrients necessary for a person to grow and stay healthy. Malnutrition can affect a person’s physical and mental health. Some ways you can get malnourished is by not eating enough food, no food at all, and by eating unhealthy food. Kids who are malnourished are underweight and don’t grow as tall as they should. Many people are affected my malnourishment like children, adults, and senior citizens.
There are many students at schools who don’t have enough money to buy school lunches. 42% of students in Winter Park schools have free or reduced lunches and breakfasts. We can reduce the amount of people in hunger by donating money to food shelters and food banks, and by creating more farmer’s markets, and by giving better paying jobs.
As kid president says “Do something that will make the world awesome”. So if everyone does their best to stop hunger than we will become a planet without hunger. He also says “You can’t be sad when you’re holding a cupcake”. Even the smallest slice of cake can make a hungry person happy.
