Essay On Human Trafficking In Thailand

Human Trafficking (An illegal act where people are sold and bought for forced labor or sexual exploitations). This has been going on for years and still to this day it is happening all over the world. This has been a serious issue and one of the countries that are infamously affected by it is Thailand. Tens and thousands of men, women, and children are fallen victim to human trafficking. Most of them are immigrants brought over from Thailand’s neighboring countries and these victims are usually forced, pressured, and conceived into slavery. Victims eventually have their human rights taken away. This issue hasn’t been left unnoticed, other countries like the United States are doing what they can to resolve the issue. The U.S government responds by creating foreign policies to support human rights and raising awareness against human trafficking. Same goes for the United Nations which is an international organization. In article 4 of the UN Declaration on human rights it states no one should be allowed to be held as slavery or servitude. Also slave trading is illegal in all forms. Thailand’s government have also been addressing the issue, but there hasn’t been much success in the number of convictions for human trafficking. …show more content…
Working together on the issue isn’t the problem, but it doesn’t seem to have made a difference in Thailand's issue on human trafficking. Such as the amount of people being convicted for it is decreasing. Thailand’s government asking for the United Nations help hasn’t been very successful. What Thailand can do is raise awareness to the citizens and to other countries that contribute to human trafficking. Everybody should have human rights and they should not be taken away.
