Discuss the subjects in which you excel or have excelled. To what factors do you attribute your success?

Throughout the course of my high school career, math and science have always been my strong points. Even through middle school I was considered advanced for my grade. My parents have always had a huge role in my schooling and the way I live my life. Ever since middle school they have always stressed how important school was. It wasn’t up until high school that I really knew what they meant. The teachings of my parents and the constant reminders to stay on top of homework are ways in which they have contributed to my academic success. Because they taught me at a young age to always do my homework right away, it has resulted in my school work being turned in on time. If it wasn’t for my parents nagging attitude, my homework would always be late and I never would have the motivation to learn on my own. Ultimately, my parents are a huge factor in the academic success I have had throughout my entire school

Along my journey in school I remember all the sacrifices my parents did for me and my siblings. For example, my father Adolfo Garcia would work from Monday to Saturday from sun up to sun down in order to provide food on the table, clothing on our backs, and a roof over are heads. Although both of my parents encourage and motivate me to attend school and pursue higher education, I am also motivated by all the sacrifices they have made because I know that if it wasn’t for the support of my parents I would not be where I am…

My parents have always challenged me to strive to do my best since I was a child. From pushing me to learn how to ride a bike at age five, to striving me to achieve a higher ACT score to attend the college I love, I learned how to become very independent and credible. As I approached my high school years, I changed mentally by creating a positive mindset after my freshman year. As to this day, getting a 3.11-grade point average has affected me in both positive and negative ways. One characteristic that I figured out about myself is that I am a person who learns from mistakes due to the fact that I am a tactile learner.…
