No American will ever forget the events that took place on September 11th, 2001. Four planes were hijacked by jihadists, and two of which were flown into the Twin Towers, killing more than 2,500 people. Another plane flew into the pentagon killing over a hundred people, and the fourth plane was managed to be countered by the passengers and eventually crashed in a field, with no survivors. These events changed America forever, and introduced the United States to a world we had yet to witness, a world full of terrorists. The war on terrorism is a war on radical islamic terrorism and can be proven by the recent terrorist attacks throughout the world, Islam being a religion that kills all against sharia law, and the recent and current state of the middle east. Nine months ago, an Orlando nightclub was attacked by young man ,associated with Isis, named Omar Mateen. This gunman killed a total of 50 Americans dead, and even more injured. According to eyewitnesses, Mateen was “heard shouting "Allah Akbar" while engaging officers,” and later called 911 to “pledge allegiance to the ISIS leader”(fox news). This is hard evidence of a horrific terrorist attack being inspired by Islam, but this is just one of many on America’s homeland. We saw radical islamic terrorism for the first time in full movement on 9/11/2001. These jihadists have been molded by the Quran and sharia law with its considerable violent nature.
