With there being nine guns for every ten people in the United States, some people say that guns are too readily available to the public. Yet less than half of the crimes committed in the country are guns involved. Even though guns are dangerous and are used to commit crimes, crime will not stop due to the ineffectiveness of gun control. Crime will adapt no matter the laws that are put into place.

They often compare gun safety to car safety in the aspect that cars have more regulations and safety measure than guns do. Cars are meant for transportation and move at high speeds with passengers. Guns however, are meant to be dangerous, where cars are a simple means of transport. Granted cars have a lot of safety measures but accidents still happen where people are killed. People only blame the drivers and not the cars when accidents happen. Still, you do not see people banning cars because a person decided to drink and drive, with the high possibility of injuring themselves or others. Guns are created to send a high moving projectile towards a target with the intent of killing or destroying the target. There are still ways of keeping people safe. One of them is the Safety on the weapon itself, which is a small button that has to be pressed to be able to fire the gun. But it is not foolproof. Some models such as the police edition do not have that style of safety. They have the safety on the grip where a person puts their hand on the pistol which is a lot less safe, so police have a higher chance of having an accident injuring someone. New pistols nowadays will not fire unless the magazine clicks into place.
