Great Danes are the perfect family dog for any family they are calm and timid. Great Danes have been around for thousands of years and were worshiped for a while. They are great with children because of their timidity they can handle little kids unlike other dogs. This is the perfect dog to be a watchdog and protect you while you sleep. these are three reasons why Great Danes are perfect family dogs.
Researchers have found drawings of Great Danes that go back to 3000 B.C. There are reports of Great Dane like dogs in chinese literature around 1121 B.C. that is when researchers believe the first Great Danes appeared. This giant may seem scary because of it's size but really Great Danes are really big babies who hate being away from their owner. Although they are mature tame animals they are still dogs meaning if children are by them you should keep watch, the child could hurt the dog and the it could bite as a reaction to it. If he or she is chewing a bone don't take it away. Beware your child might get wiped by a happy wagging tail. These are some reasons on how Great Danes are child friendly.
Great Danes are great for being a watchdog NOT a guard dog, although you may think watchdog and guard dog are the same thing but they are different. A guard dog is a dog that's viscous and guards a specific thing/s, a watchdog is a dog that looks out for you and protects you if needed. Although other dogs can also be watch dogs but a Great Dane would be best in my opinion. People worked hard on breeding a gentle giant don't mess that up by making them a vicious guard dog. Therefor Great Danes are the perfect watchdog NOT a guard

The Basset was a result of a mutation in this strand of Bloodhound. The genetic mutation of Bloodhound strain produced a short-legged, dwarfed hound ideal for on foot hunters in search of small prey (“Origin of the Basset Hound”). Human laziness also explains why the Hounds were developed.…
